Sakina was overjoyed at reading the headlines about Prince Harry getting engaged to a part African American, divorced woman. It was a wonderful thing for society in general and interesting to Sakina as an ex-pat Brit in the U.S. She pondered how it was akin to discovering that Mohamed was currently the most common name in Great Britain or to the previous week when she was doing her Thanksgiving groceries and suddenly spotted that paan was being sold at the local Pete's Fresh Market. What a victorious sight it was to see the palm-shaped betel leaves nestled between portobello mushrooms and sprigs of fresh Rosemary.
Sakina wondered how the news of the betrothal had been received at Buckingham Palace.
She imagined the Queen turning to Prince Philip and demanding, "Will the shades of Pemberly be thus polluted?"
