100 % Chance of Rain (Part 2)

There is a shiny new splash pad in the neighborhood complete with nozzles, jets and creative play structures.

Some of these structures contain shower heads that gush intermittently.

In the center of the park there are canons you can potentially aim at passersby who will probably exclaim loudly as they run for cover or reach for a beach towel.

Then there is a tall green pole with revolving, petal-like creations at the top that are deceptively delicate.

These are actually buckets in disguise and take turns in dumping water at unsuspecting bystanders who are half amused, half alarmed.

Finally, behind the metallic flowers is a series of pastel-colored sprays spouting consistent and moderate streams of crystal clear water.

Blessings and challenges. We take them as they come. Sometimes we are drenched by one or the other or by both. And sometimes it’s a months’ long drought. We practice gratitude regardless while we apply our waterproof sunscream.

What a beautiful way to look at the arduous task of taking little ones to a splash pad as a reflection of the different types of splashes we will be met with throughout life
